The next OnePlus 7 will probably switch the latest processor and improved cameras. But one thing he will not have is wireless charging.

OnePlus phones are known for incorporating many of the latest features of premium smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S10 – but at a much lower price. But one feature that still escapes phones is the ability to place a phone on a wireless charger for a quick boost. CEO Pete Lau still does not think it's worth adding to his products.

"The OnePlus pricing is one of the best," Lau said by an interpreter during an interview Monday at MWC 2019. "Wireless pricing is much lower."

The popularity of wireless charging has however increased since its introduction by Apple in the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus in 2017. Samsung has accelerated it in added the ability to charge wirelessly his Galaxy buds with his Galaxy S10.

OnePlus is at the MWC to show a prototype of his smartphone 5Gwhich will come to two carriers in Europe in the second quarter. Lau declined to comment on the OnePlus 7, as well as rumors that he might lose some clutter and add a contextual camera. However, he was carrying with him a prototype of the phone. (He refused to show it to us.)

But his comments on wireless charging indicate that one of the essentials of the consumer wish list for an ideal OnePlus phone is still missing.

Lau expressed skepticism about wireless charging as a customer benefit, pointing out that it takes a long time to charge a device with a wireless tablet. OnePlus allows you to charge your battery at 50% in 20 minutes and at full charge in less than an hour.

OnePlus is working on accelerating the supply of wireless energy, but still has not figured out how to do it without too much heat. Lau said that there was no date for when it might appear in his devices.

Qualcomm said that he brought his fast charging technology for wireless charging, which can improve the experience. Lau declined to comment about using it.
