The OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 are better and more expensive

If OnePlus has a theme in 2019, it gives you more for more. The company's new Bullets Wireless 2 earphones, launched today with the flagship phone OnePlus 7 Pro, help increase the price while enhancing the comfort of the Bullets Wireless from a year ago.

The Bullets Wireless 2, which drops from $ 69 to $ 99, offers the earbuds a much more rounded shape, more comfortable to wear and more discreet. I've had a pair for a few days and everything I said about the first positive wireless bullets remains true. The sound is punchy and engaging, the cut is stable without fatigue, and the weight distribution with the battery modules resting on the shoulders of the wearer is pretty good.

Inside each headset, there are two Knowles balanced speakers for midrange and high, as well as a dynamic speaker to cover the low frequencies. OnePlus includes support for its standard Warp Charge Fast Charge, which will give 10 hours of music playback in the Bullets Wireless 2 with 10 minutes of charge. On a full battery, the company promises 14 hours of total reading time.

Bluetooth 5 and AptX HD are both supported by these new Bullets, providing a high quality wireless connection with compatible devices. There is also a quick coupling feature between these buttons and OnePlus phones, eliminating the painful problem of pairing and syncing associated with Bluetooth headsets outside the Apple ecosystem.

Despite the many commendable improvements, I can not seem to be as enthusiastic about Bullets Wireless 2 as about the first generation. The substantial price increase is a part of it: $ 99 (or € 99 in Europe) remains a reasonable price for what you get, but it's not the same business as the Wireless Bullets. In addition, over the past year, Huawei launched its FreeLace at € 99, ​​and it is now my favorite headband. FreeLace sounds better, with beefier bass and more precise highs, and their built-in music controls are much more fun and intuitive than those provided by OnePlus.

If you buy the OnePlus 7 Pro and want the accessory with a good pair of wireless headsets, the Bullets Wireless 2 is certainly a good candidate. But for people outside the budding OnePlus ecosystem, I would recommend the Huawei FreeLace first.
