"The Orville" renewed for season 3 at Fox – Variety

The sci-fi series "The Orville" by Seth MacFarlane has been renewed for a third season at Fox.

Set 400 years into the future, the series follows The U.S.S. Orville, an intermediate-level exploration spacecraft endowed with a human and extraterrestrial crew facing spatial complications, as well as current personal and relational issues.

During the second season, intrepid explorers met new species and civilizations and learned secrets about their old friends. It attracted an average of 3.16 million viewers and a 0.75 among 18- to 49-year-olds.

The series features MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Lee J, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman and Jessica Szohr. It was created and written by MacFarlane, also executive producer alongside Brannon Braga, David A. Goodman, Jason Clark and Jon Cassar.

"The Orville" is produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

"The Orville" joins now "Empire", the medical drama "The Resident", the drama of first responder "9-1-1", the family comedy "Last Man Standing" and the animated comedies "Bob & # 39; s Burgers , "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" on TV 2019-2020.
