After the Google I / O speech, there was some confusion about the number of devices that would get Android Q Beta 3. A total of 21 was originally awarded, but that did not include the Pixel 3a and 3a XL recently announced although we have been told separately that they were going to get it. This has been confirmed subsequently, but they have now been removed.

As some eagle-eyed Redditors have pointed out, the official page on which you can sign up for the beta only lists support for the previous 6 Pixel phones, but a note has been added: "Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will be eligible in June. "Neither phone is listed on the Android Developers website either. We do not know why their access has been revoked, but at least we only have to wait until next month before they return.

Some users have been able to integrate the beta on these devices at an early stage and are now reporting demotion attempts after unsubscribing into a stable version of Android Pie. No upcoming automatic updates and manual installation are now problematic. It is therefore an element to be taken into account by Google. Curiously, the images of the Q Beta 3 system for the 3a and 3a XL are still available for download and installation (at the time of writing this article). It is therefore obvious that someone did not receive the memo.
