CHARLOTTE – The Panthers opened the final day of the 2019 NFL draft by picking another versatile defenseman, taking on defenseman / linebacker Christian Miller of Alabama in the fourth round (115th overall).

Originally from South Carolina, this 6-foot-3, 247-pound player was listed as a linebacker in Alabama. He was slowed by injuries at times last season, but was productive when he regained his health, racking up 8.5 sacks, although he only started four games. Miller made known offensive striker Greg Little – the second-round pick of the Panthers – when Miller was named SEC's Defensive Week Player last season after registering 2.5 sacks against the Rebels.

He missed 10 games as a junior in 2017 because of an arm injury.

The Panthers are about to complete their project with picks in the fifth round (154th overall) and the sixth round (187th).
