Parade: The parade will begin at 18th Street and end at North Broadway and Market Street.
Party: Opening of the arch at 6:00 am. Enter the Ark through three security points – two on Luther Ely Smith Square, Fourth Streets and Market; and one at the north end of the arch.
weather: Events will take place rain or shine. Rain is expected, especially in the morning.
Refreshments: Concession stands located on the Arche property will sell soft drinks, water and beer (cash only). Soft sided coolers with sealed non-alcoholic beverages will be permitted on the floor of the vault. No glass.
Travel Tips: Arrive early. Anyone heading to the city center is encouraged to use MetroLink or Metro buses.
These ramps are closed: Interstate 44 Eastbound / Interstate 55 Northbound to Walnut Street; and Poplar Street Bridge westbound to I-44 and Walnut Street eastbound.
Starting at 5 am on Saturday and until the end of the parade, Market Street will be closed from 18th at Memorial Drive, as well as all north-south streets that feed Market. These north-south roads will be closed one block north of Market and one block south of Market. Clark Avenue, Tucker Boulevard on the 18th, will also be closed.
If you skip itThe parade and rally will be televised live on FOX Sports Midwest and broadcast live on FOX Sports GO. The cover will include announcer John Kelly, Hall of Fame member Bernie Federko, television analyst Darren Pang, animator Scott Warmann from Blues Live, former Blues defender Jamie Rivers and reporters Erica Weston and Andy Strickland. The parade will be broadcast on Sunday at 20h. on FOX Sports Midwest.
KTVI (channel 2), KMOV (channel 4) and KSDK (channel 5) also plan to organize the festivities in the same way as the KMOX (1120 AM) and WXOS (101.1 FM) radio stations.

1929: pilots parade
Dale Jackson and Forrest O. Brine zoomed in on the first pages of their overcrowded aircraft and stayed there for two weeks out of breath. After 420 hours and 21 minutes of flight – 17 1/2 days – they were acclaimed as heroes on August 1, 1929 with a parade of running strips in downtown.

1942: Butch O 's parade Hare
Edward H. "Butch" O. Hare was a WWII marine fighter pilot who had shot down five Japanese planes in 1942 while they were attacking the Lexington aircraft carrier in the Coral Sea. He was credited with having rescued the carrier alone and received the honorary medal. He was honored at a parade of heroes in downtown St. Louis on a trip back home in 1942. The 544th Army Air Force Band at Scott Field is on Washington Avenue near Eighth Street. Behind the group is the Jimmy Doolittle convertible armchair, sitting on the convertible roof rolled up and flanked by police on motorbikes. A total of 45 groups took part in the parade, which took almost two hours to complete. The Air Force Army will only become the US Air Force in 1947. (After Expedition)

Office workers at Laclede Gas Building, 11th Street and Olive Street, are throwing confetti. General Omar Bradley was honored here on June 11, 1945 by a grand parade in downtown and a dinner at the Jefferson Hotel. A month earlier, he had led the millionth army group to victory in Germany. The Americans were still dying in Okinawa and in the air over Japan, but the home front deserved a break.
