Borderlands 3 has launched on PC an exclusive Epic Games Store, a decision that has sparked some controversy. Randy Pitchford, of Gearbox, revealed that the PC version of Borderlands 3 had a very good start.
The executive said the maximum number of simultaneous players – that is, the largest number of people playing simultaneously – is about double the Borderlands 2 record-breaking record of simultaneous players. "WoW! You're awesome "Exclaimed Pitchford.
The maximum number of simultaneous users from launch day did not last long, as Borderlands 3 became even bigger in the days that followed its release, Pitchford said.
"It goes well beyond expectations and our systems seem to remain strong!" Pitchford said about the record numbers.
Anecdote: On PC, the data indicate that the maximum number of players competing with Borderlands 3 on launch day is about twice as high as the record number of players competing with Borderlands 2. WOW! You are awesome!

In a way, the number of competing players today is * higher * than the record number of yesterday's records. This far exceeds expectations and our systems seem to hold up well!

Borderlands 3 is exclusive on Epic Games Store on PC until April 2020, when it can be launched on Steam and other digital showcases.
It is unclear how the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Borderlands 3 work from the user's point of view, but more information should become available in a timely manner.
