Rebecca had a dream: she saw her future with each of her three contenders, but she was always unhappy in each of them and Bloom made her frustration palpable after four seasons of futile research. Then Rebecca confided her confusion with an "11-hour number", with Bloom taking over a dozen classics Madman songs in a single mix of nostalgia. But Rebecca's best friend, Paula, helped her to understand that she should be writing all those songs that came back to her head, and we could only help her with all her might to make sure that she did not have to. she can take her first steps in pursuit of her dream, including very shaky singing lessons. . (It's a merit of Bloom's vocal training that even his "bad" song is convincing.)
Rebecca's ultimate choice, falling in love with her creative mind instead of another guy, was one of those endings that surprised us … before realizing how perfect it was. But that would not have worked – heck, the whole show would probably not have worked – without Bloom's insolent and committed lead performance. We know we will not have any more reminders, but at least we can say one last time: bravo.
HONORABLE MENTION | No, You are the worstJimmy and Gretchen did not get married in the series finale this week, but stars Chris Geere and Aya Cash still gave us an unforgettable farewell performance, as LA's hip lovebirds fell into their own version of a happy ending. First, Geere and Cash dumped each other into an emotionally raw and wild fight scene, while Jimmy and Gretchen realized that neither of them had really want to walk down the aisle. But they finally agreed to stay together, one day at a time, and the sweet-and-sour chemistry of Geere and Cash in their final scenes reminded us why we follow these fools for five years – a sending of choice for the first time. one of our favorite TV couples.
HONORABLE MENTION | For the first time in decades, we have been transported to The twilight zone This week, we were amazed by the captivating turn of Kumail Nanjiani in "The Comedian". As a comic of the epic, trying to find success after years of concerts, Nanjiani had to nail down Samir's affable, self-depreciating nature. But it is the transformation of the failed chess character into an insolent, power-hungry superstar who has left us stunned. Whenever Samir spoke at Eddie's Comedy Club, he was a slightly different person, culminating in a manic climax that Nanjiani tore up like a hurricane. Thanks to the strong performance of Genao, Ruby is not only a person who is going through a difficult time, but also a person who takes the first steps out of ready to overcome fear and sorrow and become happy again.
