Here are the highlights of the "petrolhead" lust for 2019. Porsche created the two cars we all expected, the 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder.

Both cars share the same 4.0-liter unit. As expected, it is not a detuned version of the engine of the 911 Speedster, which should also propel the 992 911 GT3. Rather, it is an extended adaptation of the 3.0-liter engine used in the 911 Carrera range, less turbochargers.

It runs at 8000 rpm and develops 414 hp plus 310 lb. of torque, sending each car from 0 to 62 km / h in 4.4 seconds. The GT4 rises to 188 mph, while the Spyder is out of ideas at 187 mph.

The acceleration figures may seem a bit pedestrian compared to most sports cars in motion, but that's for good reason: the latest Porsche GT GT creations, like the old Spyder and GT4, each use a six-speed manual gearbox. Happy Days.

In the suspensions department, however, there is a slight difference from the previous recipe. This time, cars share the same chassis. The new, more focused configuration involves standard-shaped Porsche Active Suspension Management dampers and a 30 mm heavy ride height drop. The electronic aids have been redesigned to be less intrusive, and there is also a torque vectoring system that works in conjunction with a mechanical limited slip differential.

The aerodynamic group of the 718 Cayman GT4, which includes a new front splitter, a rear diffuser and a rear spoiler, increases the support force by 50%. The Spyder is inevitably the rear wing, but thanks to its own rear diffuser, it is "the first model in the Boxster family to generate aerodynamic drag on the rear axle," says Porsche.
