Power Rangers: Battle for the grid is a small, solid fighting game that desperately needs powerful single-player content and more powerful morphine fighters. Developer nWay today responds to these needs in a lot of free downloadable content, including three new fighters, a full-fledged narrative mode, voiceovers from members of the series, and more.

Battle for the gridThe biggest problem encountered at the launch last month on PS4, Xbox One and Switch, was its list of ridiculously small fighters. With more than 25 years of Power Rangers history to explore, the three-on-three team fight game launched with only nine fighters. It's just sad.

Now it's three less sad fighters, with the addition of Dragon Armor Trini, Udonna and the Cenozoic Blue Ranger.

It's three other Power Rangers to play with. I like to have a beefy character who is actually a girl dressed in a Zord suit. You go, Trini.

Then there is the story mode, which originally was announced by the developers but was not integrated into the game. Well, it's there now. It's based on Powerful Morphin Forest Rangers: destroyed grid Boom event! Studio comic series, written by comic book writer Kyle Higgins. When Lord Drakkon, a perverse and alternative version of Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger, embarks on a massive campaign to destroy all the Power Rangers, teenagers with the weather-crossed attitude 39 space to stop it. This seems like a good reason to fight.

Best of all, the new content also includes voice work from multiple keys. Power Rangers actors including Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver), Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott), David J. Fielding (Zordon) and Kerrigan Mahan (Goldar). I will feel so much more motivated if the real Zordon tells me what to do.

All this plus four new arenas to fight for free. Power Rangers: Battle for the grid It's still far from the massive celebration of teenage girls in color suits that I imagine, but it's much closer now.
