But those who connected to Fandango found themselves in a virtual waiting line for some theater chains.
"You are now online for tickets," reads Fandango's website.
The chart, which appears after consumers have been trying to buy tickets for some theaters, indicates that ticket buyers will automatically be redirected to the site as soon as their turn arrives. The graph displays an estimated wait time, which varies from one person to the other.
Fandango was backed up but was operational, allowing consumers to purchase tickets, although many hours of programming for the opening weekend of the film have already been exhausted.
The CMA website and its ticketing app seemed, however, to be out of order due to the high demand.
Fandango refused to comment. AMC did not immediately return a request for comment, but they posted a tweet to remedy the site's failure.
Atom Tickets was preparing its servers for the rush of ticket sales online, but that still was not enough to handle the demand. An Atom spokesman told CNN Business that "Endgame" sold three times more tickets on its site during the first hour of presale than "Avengers: Infinity War" last year.
"Endgame" is the sequel to "Infinity War", which broke box office records in its first appearance last April.
Theaters have released several schedules for "Endgame", which is listed at 3 hours and 2 minutes. AMC 25 in Times Square New York has 41 sessions on opening day. This includes schedules at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30.
