The press service of Apple adds the Wall Street Journal at the last minute

Other outlets like the New York Times and Washington Post still hold, according to sources. As before, Apple does not only require a 50% discount, but requires unlimited access. Publishers have apparently opposed a lack of direct access to customer information, such as e-mail addresses.

Apple, the WSJ and others refused to comment.

Regardless of the publishers available on March 25, the business model should remain consistent. Apple would continue to offer for free its usual amount of articles in the News app, but paying a monthly subscription would open the doors. Associated with Apple Music and the upcoming video service, it would represent a major asset for services, while its hardware sales slow.
