‘The Queen’s Gambit’ remains atop Nielsen streaming chart

“ The Mandalorian ” spends a second week on the chart, although the presidential election reduced consumption during the week of November 2.

The queen’s gambit Ranked first in Nielsen’s top 10 streaming for the second week in a row, but the presidential election may have lowered the overall time viewers spent streaming during the week of November 2.

The top 10 streaming shows of the week accounted for 7.45 billion minutes of viewing. This is the second-lowest total for the top 10 in the three months that Nielsen released weekly data (just before the week of October 19). The top 10 accounted for 11 percent less minutes of streaming time than the week before; election coverage ratings, meanwhile, gave news programming a boost that week.

Netflix The queen’s gambit – which the streamer says is his biggest scripted limited series to date – took 1.46 billion minutes of viewers’ time to rank number one for the week. The Mandalorian (955 million minutes) remained at No. 3 the week its second episode of season two debuted, and is only down 7.5% from its first week.

The only other original show to stream in the top 10 from November 2-8 is The Great British Pastry Fair, which ranks sixth.

Streaming platforms claim that Nielsen’s methodology does not capture the full scope of viewing on devices other than TVs. Nielsen also only measures American audiences, not those of other countries.
