‘The Queen’s Game’ rules the US broadcast table, with Disney’s ‘The Mandalorian’ dropping to third – Deadline

Netflix The queen’s gambit topped Nielsen’s U.S. streaming charts for the week of October 26 to November 1, racking up nearly 1.9 million total viewing minutes.

Rankings are usually released Thursday but have been delayed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Netflix said last week that Gambit had drawn 62 million viewers worldwide to become the company’s largest scripted limited series. Netflix defines viewing differently from Nielsen, counting any sampling of a minimum of two continuous minutes as a series view. Nielsen measures cumulative viewing minutes, only in the US and only through TV, which means mobile devices are left out.

Disney also had a big week, with the second season of The Mandalorian Ranked # 3 on the Nielsen roster after his Oct. 30 debut. The show’s launch, along with Disney +, took place in November 2019, months before Nielsen began posting his weekly ratings over the summer. Disney also streams most of its originals one at a time, meaning that only the Season 2 premiere episode, as well as Season 1, could be counted in overall viewing.

‘The Queen’s Gambit’ Ranks Among Netflix’s Most-Watched Limited Series

This was Disney + ‘s first appearance in the chart, which also tracks Hulu and Amazon as well as Netflix.

Nine of the 10 titles on the list are Netflix, with the library showing the originals numbering five to four. Office, which will move its U.S. streaming to Peacock in the New Year, ended Week # 2.

As viewing of the holiday season intensified, the other notable fifth-place attendee was Holidate, an original Netflix film starring Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey. It attracted around 654 million minutes of viewing time.
