The real reason behind the cancellation of the good girls

There would have been more than one good reason for the recent cancellation of the NBC series Good girls.

At the end of June, it was announced that the fourth season of the comedy-drama, which is currently airing, would be the last. On Wednesday, July 7, TVLine, citing multiple sources connected to NBC, Universal Television and the show, reported an apparent behind-the-scenes drama that led to the series’ abrupt ending, the recent ratings of which haven’t inspired too many confidence among fans in its chances of renewal.

The outlet declared the show was due to return for a shortened fifth season, with Christina hendricks, Mae whitman and Law agreeing to take pay cuts to reprise their current roles as mothers and criminal masterminds, and production slated to begin in spring 2022. However, TVLine cited a Good girls insider who requested anonymity that last June, negotiations with their co-star Manny Montana hit a wall because of both the money and the schedule.
