Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will welcome their new baby in only a few months. And all the public talked about the royal family. As for Meghan and Harry, they will apparently not know the sex of the baby. But that does not mean that they do not hope for one or the other. Here's why Meghan Markle hopes her new baby is a girl.
Harry and Meghan did not give a lot of clues about their baby
Harry and Meghan announced their pregnancy last October, but they did not give too much additional information about the last member of the family. Although Meghan seems incredibly happy with her baby bump (we often see her putting her hand on her belly, which can testify to her admiration for the new baby and her maternity), she does not say much about the little one. However, at the beginning, the palace had announced that Meghan was due to give birth in the spring of 2019, but Meghan had let slip that the baby would be expected by the end of April. But some think it is due even earlier.
The couple would not know the sex of her baby
As far as the public knows, Meghan and Harry do not know what they have. According to the royal tradition, members of the royal family are not supposed to learn the sex of the baby before the day of his birth. Kate Middleton and Prince William would never have discovered what they had – for any of their three children – until the date of birth. However, Princess Diana would have learned Prince Harry's gender (and would have chosen not to tell Prince Charles) before he was born. But if Meghan and Harry respect the royal tradition, the couple probably does not know what the baby will be like.
Harry has already said that he hopes to have a girl
Harry has not been so secretive that he wants a boy or a girl. When Harry and Meghan were in Australia, shortly after the announcement of the pregnancy by the royal family, a fan shouted, "I hope it's a girl." Harry turned to him and said says "Me too." The royal family only has one girl right now, and that is Charlotte. According to relatives, Prince Charles also hopes to have a daughter. Charles had wanted Harry to be a girl and when he was not, there was a lot of disappointment. He always wanted to have his own daughter, so he probably hopes that, since he does not have one, Harry will do it.
Meghan is also hoping for a girl – because she already has the perfect gift for her.
Meghan said a few years ago – before meeting Harry – that she was hoping to have a daughter someday. In an interview in 2015, Meghan stated that she had bought a Cartier watch that she wanted to pass on to her daughter. "I had it engraved on the back, on Mr. M.'s behalf and I intend to give it to my daughter someday," she said. Now that Meghan is preparing to welcome her own child, it makes sense that she hopes the little baby is a girl. At least, it's clear that Meghan wants a girl at some point.
