For a while, being royal meant not having a private social network account to connect to the outside world. Meghan Markle discovered it the hard way when she had to delete her Instagram account from her days in Hollywood. Then she had to close another "secret" account later.
All official accounts sanctioned by the Royal Palace are still in place. However, Prince Harry and Meghan have just opened their own common Instagram account, which would apparently allow them to part with William and Kate. This comes in part from their move to Frogmore Cottage, where Harry and Meghan plan to forge an identity.
How will they use this new Instagram account and will they be as open as other celebrities?
Their first message to the world
Many speculations have occurred on the name of their Instagram account. Some have suggested that his name is FrogmoreRoyal, although it is now canceled by the news that it is really SussexRoyal.
As you can see, they released their first message on the morning of April 2, here in the United States. Most likely, it is a manager who wrote his first message for them. Whatever it was, it seemed that both had been designed before.

With speculation over, how much will their Instagram account become political? Plus, we have to wonder if Harry or Meghan will use it as a megaphone to deal with individual situations or even to interact with people.
What types of problems will Harry and Meghan promote here?
We already know that Meghan promotes feminist causes and the education of young women. Given her speech on these topics on International Women's Day recently, it will be gratifying to see her intelligence posted on Instagram.
Harry can also use this account to promote his many past causes such as helping disadvantaged youth, environmental conservation and the well-being of military families.
Hopefully they will have the opportunity to leave messages under their own name. Of course, the palace will probably look at each publication and maybe even edit it for grammar to preserve the royal image.
What happens if they do not? Could Meghan even use the account to make everyone clear about her family problems?
Why do Harry and Meghan really want their own Instagram account?
Based on this decision on Instagram, it was clearly a deliberate attempt to separate from William and Kate, who are much more formal in their ads on social networks. It's also in tune with recent pressure from Harry and Meghan for more independence before Baby Sussex arrives.
It will be interesting to see what Harry and Meghan manage to get on Instagram. Considering that Meghan has a lot of experience with social media, she might let something go to the top royal officials. Again, she seems to know exactly where to take things without causing too much drama in the royal family.
Evidence shows that this couple is already reshaping what it means to be royal. Having the courage to open up more to social media would be a way to move the royal family to a point where it will be irreversible.
The account could also be a new base for Meghan and Harry's (Sara Latham) new PR repairer to help the Markle family drama.
How would Meghan and Harry use this account individually?
Everyone probably hopes that Meghan will publish on this account separately. Would she be able to get a message out if more trouble starts with her family after the birth of Baby Sussex?
Most likely, she would entrust Latham with these tasks, but hearing at least something from the situation would relieve the stress of constantly having to rely on impartial courtiers to make people clear who she really is.
Other European royals use their social media accounts in a much more personal way. From now until next year, we should know how much Harry and Meghan will become personal, especially if the alarm sounds at the palace in the middle of the night.
