Fans were puzzled as to why Swift didn’t collect her rewards in person

Taylor Swift did not attend this year’s American Music Awards, despite receiving numerous accolades at the event.

The singer took home the awards for Favorite Female Artist – Pop / Rock, Favorite Music Video and Artist of the Year, which she virtually accepted from her studio.

Fans were puzzled as to why Swift didn’t come to collect the rewards in person.

Speaking about it, Swift said, “I’m actually re-recording all of my old music in the studio where we originally recorded it,” she revealed. “It was amazing, and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

The singer previously revealed that she will re-record five albums after Scooter Braun sold her master recordings.

These include the years 2006 Taylor Swift, 2008’s Without fear, 2010s Speak Now, 2012 red and 2014 1989.

“I just think artists deserve to own their own work,” she said on CBS Sunday morning when Scooter Braun bought its master recordings. “I’m really passionate about it.”
