The WWE 2021 Elimination Chamber was a unique spectacle built on the promise of opportunity. Many have had the chance to rewrite their futures on The Road to WrestleMania. However, it also left plenty of chances that the stars failed to win.
It was a night when the wins and losses were greater than a single night. The biggest step of all lingered on WWE, with his sign looking at the talent in every match.
Particularly important were the elimination chamber matches. A lot of the best men worthy of a title on SmackDown have stepped into the structure, and some have really come forward. Cesaro and Daniel Bryan went almost all the way.
The WWE Championship was also on the line, with Drew McIntyre having to defend against five former WWE Champions: Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles and Randy Orton. While he held firm against the field, he was not ready for what was to follow.
Other big moments included Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler facing Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair in a competitive clash, and Bobby Lashley having to put his title on the line against Riddle and John Morrison.
The real winners and losers of this show are those who will enjoy this moment at WrestleMania and those who missed a major spotlight in the blink of an eye.

Cesaro had all the momentum going before the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to put it back.
Instead, however, The Swiss Cyborg fell under the combined effort of Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso before the Planet Champion pinned Uso.
Whether Cesaro or Bryan win, Roman Reigns will always be the champion that night. It was the time to establish future challengers after WrestleMania 37. Reigns vs. Bryan was a story WWE could still make, but Cesaro never had a big time like Bryan.
Much like his former team partner, Shinsuke Nakamura, he is a veteran who could be sold as a potential world title contender. Instead, WWE failed to deliver with him every year.
If Cesaro isn’t the future according to WWE, he shouldn’t have been so much in the spotlight before this game. He was sold as a special talent who could defeat just about anyone, a role he had won after years of working, no matter what role he was given.
It’s hard to say what Cesaro will do in the future. He was the MVP of the Elimination Chamber match, but those kinds of performances can be quickly forgotten without immediate opportunities to push him forward.

Bobby Lashley was the United States Champion for 175 days, towering over absolutely everyone. However, Sunday night’s Triple Threat match was set up to take away the title without ever letting anyone seem to have a chance against him.
Riddle has been established as a ridiculous character for months, losing to Lashley multiple times while making weird jokes behind the scenes. He wasn’t well established enough to dethrone the champion.
However, it seems the plan has always been to get Lashley’s title ahead of WrestleMania. This may be because there are bigger plans for The All Mighty, although those plans just aren’t clear at this time.
The definite loser was the prestige of the United States Championship. Lashley could have defended the title one-on-one at WrestleMania, but Riddle against anyone is probably not enough to secure a spot in The Show of Shows.
It is likely that the American title will now be defended in a multi-wrestler competition. The original Bro was probably not supposed to win the belt until Keith Lee was injured. It’s a shame that the title’s prestige was thrown in the name of a story with Lashley surpassing gold.

Although it took Reginald’s help, Nia Jax managed to nab Sasha Banks. She and Shayna Baszler beat two of The Boss’ best players and Bianca Belair – the likely contenders in the Night 1 of WrestleMania main event on April 10.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions were always expected to hold on with several other challengers waiting backstage. However, it was a great victory for the holders to build their reign.
The women’s team division needs a lot more spotlight. The belts must be defended several times. Matches like this should be the norm. Until they are, these opportunities are special to continue to develop the potential of this division.
Jax and Baszler will likely leave this second title race fully established as dominant talent. Hopefully, the Queen of Spades in particular gets a serious run on Raw or SmackDown alone, using that reign as a starting point.

New Day has been a special part of WWE for some time now, but the group has only had a series of serious singles briefly.
It looks like that may soon change. Big E is the intercontinental title holder, and Kofi Kingston looked like a star as he faced several former world champions in the Raw Elimination Chamber match.
Kingston was amazing in Sunday’s game, and his booking showed WWE knew he would be. He managed to nab Randy Orton early and clean in the contest and does not appear to have lost momentum since his career as the WWE Champion in 2019.
WWE will know that there is still a special talent who deserved this opportunity. The veteran can make anything look great with the right projector. Hopefully, this isn’t just the unique moment that KofiMania has finally become.
However, Kingston was the second man eliminated in Sunday’s game, indicating he could be left out of the opportunities ahead.

After all the teasing and the false hype, The Miz has finally made it. With brutal help from Bobby Lashley, The A-Lister dethroned Drew McIntyre to become a two-time WWE Champion.
It was an emphatic moment for a veteran who paid his dues in the company. He’s had ups and downs and is much better now than when he first won the title in 2010.
He’s unlikely to carry the title for long, especially with so many variables around him. McIntyre will want his title back, and it has been established that Miz cannot beat the Scottish Fair, while Lashley should have his name in the hat for the opportunities ahead as well.
The new WWE Champion even has a beef with 24/7 Champion Bad Bunny. While the rapper shouldn’t be in contention for the world title, he’s still certain to take the image into account in some way or another.
The WWE Championship scene just got a lot more complicated. Before Sunday’s PPV, it wasn’t clear if anyone was willing to take that step forward to challenge McIntyre. Now anyone could be a WWE Champion or challenge the title through WrestleMania.
It was clearly the biggest story of the night and the one moment that few people saw coming. The next step will allow the red mark to remain relevant until the Show of Shows from April 10 to 11.
