The remake of Final Fantasy VII finally resurfaces

After a long period of infernal development, the Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally back in the real world, with Square Enix filing today a short trailer and promising more to come in June. It seems very good.

First announced at the 2015 E3, the Final Fantasy VII Remake has had some mysterious problems: Square Enix removed it from the third-party CyberConnect2 studio in 2017 and transferred the development internally. Now he is finally back on our radar, action-RPG combat and everything.

Previously, Square had declared that the Final Fantasy VII remake would be episodic, and based on this trailer – which is entirely composed of scenes from the first act of the game, in Midgar – which may still be the case. It basically looks like a new game, more a reinvention than a remake, with new character abilities and unknown abilities. Let's hope it will be over by 2025.
