Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson shared a very relatable parenting moment on Instagram on Friday involving his daughter Tia, 2, and a bathroom emergency. “When they have to go, they have to go,” the 48-year-old wrote Thursday, captioning a photo of himself holding the girl precariously as she relieves himself on a lawn. “Baby Tia said she had to pee, so we said, ‘No problem honey, you have a diaper. Pee and I’ll change it after. ”
The Rock continued, “She refused to go to her diaper (I don’t blame her) and asked if she could pee on the grass. Of course, we’re on private property, so daddy takes her to pee on the grass. But then she decides to renegotiate (again, I don’t blame her) and asks daddy to look for her because she doesn’t want to “ stand on the lava monster ” so I have to hold her while she pees … all over my new white sneakers. “
He joked, “And if I ever find this type of ‘lava monster’, I whip his ass. Damn, I’ll take this precious memory on my sneakers every day).
Still a father involved, the Rock had an “incredibly complicated” relationship with his own father, who died in January 2020 of a heart attack. This relationship is depicted in his upcoming TV comedy, Young Rock. The NBC series, which premieres Feb. 16, reveals the story of his life as a young boy and then as an adult – played by Johnson himself – as the aspiring US president.
The actor adores his own children, Tia and his daughter Jasmine, 5, with his wife Lauren Hashian. The Rock is also the father of Simone Dwayne Johnson, 18, his daughter from a previous marriage.
Quality time with Tia is often documented on her father’s Instagram page, including her attempt to untangle the toddler’s hair last week. Doubling himself as “Mr. Golden Hands, ”the former pro-wrestler gently untied her hair as she sported a“ terrified ”expression on her face. “I might be bald, but I know a thing or two about hair,” he wrote in the post.
And he recounts his hilarious attempts to convince Tia that he voiced the character of Maui, a self-centered demigod, in the 2016 Disney animated film. Moana. However, Tia doesn’t buy it, even while singing a duet with her father from her character’s popular song, “You’re Welcome.”
