While the stripper drama Hustlers Open to rave reviews and a massive box office over the past weekend, one of the inspirations behind the blockbuster film remains compelling.
The film is based on a true story detailed in a 2015 New York Magazine article titled "The Hustlers at Scores", which deals with strippers in New York City who drugged their wealthy clients to use their credit cards to make big bills at the strip club.
The article focused on Roselyn "Rosie" Keo and Samantha Barbash, interpreted by Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez, respectively, in the film. (Lorene Scafaria, the film's director, changed her name to Destiny, her counterpart of Rosie, and Ramona, her counterpart to Samantha.)
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Barbash shared his thoughts on the film, as well as the portrait of Lopez.
Although Barbash stated that she did not agree to participate in the production of the film, she saw Hustlers alongside family members and friends, including his 25 year old son, Saturday night in Manhattan.
"Everyone asked," Have I seen the movie? So, I thought, "Why can not I just see the movie – because I knew I was going to have a lot of interviews about it this week," he said. -she explains.

Barbash and Keo were finally charged with two counts of conspiracy, four counts of grand larceny, two counts of assault and three counts of forgery, according to TIME. Both were sentenced to five years probation.
Since then, women have evolved. Keo wrote a book about the experiment called The sophisticated Hustler and joined the cast of the film at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she posed for photographs.
Barbash, like Keo, also wrote a book titled Underline, which should reach the tablets later this month. Barbash also has a spa.
The film, which also includes Lizzo, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart and Julia Stiles, opened for an estimated $ 33.2 million last weekend, exceeding expectations and setting career records for Lopez and Wu.
