Matt Damon is apparently set to return to the MCU via Thor: love and thunder after making an appearance three years ago in Thor: Ragnarok.
Damon recently landed in Australia where he is in quarantine before filming. It’s unclear at this point if the actor will be back for a cameo or a bigger role.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed the cast: “Hollywood superstar Matt Damon joining our local talent to film such an important film in New South Wales is a great victory creating thousands of jobs for locals”, did he declare.
According to local media, the actor has said he will be in Australia for “the next few months.”
“The Australian film crews are known worldwide for their professionalism and it is a joy to work with whom the 14 days of quarantine are so worth it,” he commented.

In Thor: Ragnarok Damon portrayed an Asgardian actor playing Loki in a play about his “noble sacrifice.”
Celebrity arrivals in Australia have been a hot topic in recent days after controversy over allowing the country’s top tennis players for the Australian Open as many Australians remain stranded abroad and cannot not come back.
A statement to local media from Damon’s immigration attorney noted, “Every aspect of the resettlement and quarantine of the Damon family has been organized and privately funded … their input will have no effect. this will either impact or reduce the number of places for Australians abroad waiting to return home or create any burden for the Australian taxpayer ”.
Taika Waititi’s Thor: love and thunder, the fourth film in the Thor saga, will star Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson and Jaimie Alexander. Waititi will be voicing the character Korg. The film’s release was recently moved to May 6, 2022.
