The Rolls-Royce (maybe, maybe) boat tail owned by Jay-Z and Beyoncé just made its public debut

The lavish Rolls-Royce Boat Tail caused a stir when it was unveiled earlier this year, but very few saw it in the flesh. So far, that is.

The singular convertible, which is considered the most expensive new car in existence, made its first public appearance at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in northern Italy over the weekend quite glamour.

“This is a truly historic moment for the brand,” Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said in a statement. “We are leading a modern bodybuilding movement that takes the luxury industry at large to an entirely different space, where hyper-personalization and contemporary patronage offer essentially limitless possibilities. “

Indeed, this hand-built masterpiece, which is rumored to be owned by none other than Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has been personalized to the nth degree. Named after its tapered tail end, the Beauty V-12 features bespoke detailing unlike any Rolls on the planet and took four years of painstaking work.

Spanning an imposing 19-footer, the four-wheeler houses a full range of opulent features, including a dual champagne cooler specially designed to hold bottles of Armand de Brignac Champagne from Jay-Z, another onboard refrigerator for store the required caviar and couch, plus a full set of dinnerware by Christofle de Paris. There is also a parasol that sticks out from the back to create a makeshift dining area.

Arguably the coolest touch, however, is the car’s timing accessory. Bovet has designed matching “for him and for her” watches for Mr. and Mrs. Carter that can actually serve as a ship’s tail clock. When not on the wrist of musical royalty, either timepiece can slide into a slot on the minimalist dashboard to add a touch of watchmaking precision.

Of course, this is more of a luxury car. Rolls-Royce says the launch of the Boat Tail represents a pivotal moment for the luxury industry as a whole. He showed the vast new possibilities for collectors to create one-of-a-kind luxury rides in which the bodywork and interior are custom-built exactly to their personal specifications.

It is certainly a trend that we can follow.
