Journalist Yashar Ali suspected de Blasio was entering the race due to the growing popularity of South Bend's mayor and potential candidate, Pete Buttigieg.
"De Blasio can not stand the mayor of South Bend running and getting a lot of attention, why should the Mayor of New York not have the same luck?" Ali tweeted.
The mayor of New York recently held a Green New Deal rally at Trump Tower, which provoked viral enmity between him and Eric Trump.
