According to rumors, Apple's all-new 16-inch MacBook may not be released this year, according to a new research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo obtained by MacRumeurs who now predicts that updated laptops will arrive next year, at the earliest.
Kuo had already broken the rumor that Apple was working on an updated range of MacBook Pro, consisting of a larger model with a 16- to 16-inch display and a 13-inch model offering higher specifications than the current version of the MacBook Pro. According to Kuo's initial note, it was expected that these laptops would be published later in 2019, but its latest update now links the publication to 2020 or 2021 (the translations of the Kuo note do not match the date exact).
The delay is not entirely surprising; Kuo's original date for 2019 seemed well advanced because Apple's MacBook Pro model is barely three years old. However, the current design has been the subject of much criticism, including keyboard design flaws (which Apple still seems to grapple with, despite attempts to fix it last year), as well as dead-end cable problems. display (nicknamed "Flexgate").
