The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is a mid-range phone with next-generation speeds.

Most of the 5G phones we've seen so far are product variants at the top of the list of manufacturers: see the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, and so on. Samsung's latest 5G phone, however, is the Galaxy A90 5G, which means it fits into its mid-range Galaxy A lineup under phones such as the S10 and the Note 10.

Samsung recently released other Galaxy A models that focus on high-end features, such as four-camera systems and swivel camera mechanisms, as part of a strategy aimed at to fight aggressively against Chinese manufacturers. And to be clear, the Galaxy A90 5G would have appeared to be a very high-end phone at the beginning of this year, and still has a technical record more than solid. 5G connectivity and Samsung DeX support aside, the phone seems pretty familiar.

The A90 5G has a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The screen is a 6.7-inch 1080P OLED panel with a small "Infinity-U" notch and a built-in fingerprint sensor. There is a three-camera system with a 48-megapixel main sensor (probably Samsung's), an ultra-large 8 megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel sensor for depth information, as well as a 32-selfie camera. megapixels. The battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh and a maximum load of 25W.

The 5G is of course an element of differentiation for some, but on paper, the specifications place the A90 5G against reasonably priced phones like the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (known as Redmi K20 Pro in India) and it's hard to judge how competitive it is. It will be without publication information for different markets. (The 5G is not yet a factor in India, for example.)
