Samsung's $ 1,980 Galaxy Fold phone is down for some users after a day or two of use. An evaluation unit provided to CNBC by Samsung is also completely unusable after only two days of use.
Brands Brownlee, the technical critic of YouTube, also removed the film and had a broken screen. A spokesman for Samsung warned Wednesday not to remove the protective layer.
However, CNBC has not removed this layer and our screen is no longer working properly. When it's open, the left side of the flexible screen, which makes up a large 7.3-inch screen, flickers steadily. It looks like this:
Samsung began accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold last weekend, but quickly ran out of availability, suggesting a limited supply at least until the launch of its product on April 26th.
Samsung was not immediately available to comment.
