She then demonstrated how she cleaned the machine, using two teaspoons of citric acid.
Mom simply adds the ingredient to the detergent compartment, closes the door, and runs a quick cycle while it’s empty.
“Wow, it’s so clean,” she said, pointing to the newly sparkling device.
“You will be amazed at the difference. “
And others quickly accepted the method.
“Citric acid is the key ingredient in most dishwasher cleaners,” one man explained.
Others have said that citric acid can be replaced with vinegar and baking soda for a similar result.
“Baking soda, yes. I do this regularly. I also like to add vinegar. Doesn’t leave any odor or anything and really cleans the dishwasher. Best of all, it takes away the weird smell a dishwasher can sometimes have, ”one mother said.

Some people just thanked mom for the practical advice.
“Oh that’s great, I’ll try it next time, thank you very much,” one woman said.
And then she showed the amazing result – her dishwasher seemed to be sparkling clean
“What a handy tip, thanks for sharing,” said another.
Others said it should be able to find it in the bakery section of any supermarket.
The video was viewed by over 136,000 people in less than 24 hours and garnered over 3,800 likes.
