The sequence Very Orioles begins with a capture of Highlight and ends with an injury and a failure

It was a very valiant effort on the part of Orioles player Dwight Smith Jr. The ball was led pretty much to the left by Rougned Odor; Asdrúbal Cabrera, at first base with two outs, runs to the contact. By tracking that ball, Smith might have kept a race on the board. But he also hit the wall at a speed close to the maximum speed and suffered a lot. It is frankly a lot to sacrifice for a lousy round in the fourth inning in an Orioles match in early June.

Smith would eventually get out of the match, but not right away – he had to stay long enough to get into a double game in the next round. Orioles baseball is just perfect: a guy crashes against the wall and hurts himself with a lousy flying ball in the fourth inning; his manager removes him from the game, but only after he killed a rally with a double-handed player on his next appearance on the plate. That, my friends, is the kind of dedication needed to compile the second worst record and the worst differential in baseball. The Orioles would then lose the game by a race.
