The Chicago Bears said goodbye to safety, Adrian Amos, who worked as an independent agency this week, signed a lucrative $ 36 million four-year deal with the Green Bay Packers.
But General Manager Ryan Pace did not take a long time to find his replacement and, in some ways, an upgrade.
The Bears have signed a one-year deal with former round-robin choice Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who now joins his former Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson in Chicago high school. It's a duo that has even more potential than Amos offered in Jackson last season because of Clinton-Dix's ability to play passes.
Clinton-Dix has played 80 games in his professional career and has 14 interceptions. His best season was in 2016 when he recorded five choices.
By way of comparison, Amos only has three interceptions in four seasons in the NFL.
Clinton-Dix is clearly an enhancement of Chicago's efforts to combat high-altitude flying attack in today's professional game.
Now Amos's game against the race will be missed. there is no doubt. But Chicago's seventh is one of the best in the league and will be responsible for setting the tone against the opposing half-offensive.
Bear fans know how good Clinton-Ten can be. He thrived against Chicago. nine of his 14 interceptions were against the Bears.
The best thing about signing Clinton-Ten could be the contract. Pace has stolen it. He joins the Bears under a one-year contract worth $ 3.5 million. There's a good chance he'll have the best season of his Chicago defense career, and he'll probably do a lot more splashing games than Amos.
Signing Clinton-Dix was another stroke of Pace's genius. It allowed the market to eat alive with some of the massive contracts paid for collateral such as Landon Collins, Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu and even Amos, before rushing for Clinton-Ten Impact.
