PRINCE George melted hearts in the Euro 2020 final, happily hugging his father Prince William in celebration as England scored their first goal.
The sweet moment was one of the many times the young prince has shown he “idolizes” Prince William – and has a very loving family life behind the palace gates.

Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, told Fabulous: “Prince Harry has claimed that cold and mean parents have spoiled the Royal Family for generations.
“Well, this cycle has already been broken in the Cambridge clan.”

Reflects her body language
Body language expert Judi James said George’s body language as he celebrated the goal shows exactly how much he wants to be like his father.
She explained, “Her first look is towards William and as he sees his father celebrating by roaring and banging in the air, we can see George using postural mimicry and the mirror to respond almost exactly the same.
“After giving his father a hug to share the moment of intense celebration, George sets out to produce his own personal ritual of joy and the way he raises his arms and shows who learned them from.
“He even rubs his nose with a feature we often see in William and father and son pull the waistband of their pants in matching body language routines.”

Affection is not for the cameras
Duncan pointed out that when Saka’s missed penalty shattered English hearts, William could be seen hugging his son’s shoulder comfortably.
He said: “It wasn’t for the cameras, it wasn’t to prove a public point, it was a knee-jerk reaction from a father who loves his son.
“A father who is George’s hero in every way, and was desperate to see the Wembley games by his side.”
Wanted to dress like him in a suit
Prince George was also there to watch the Three Lions beat Germany 2-0.
The young royal would have “twisted the arms of William and Kate” to arrive in the stands, and his choice of a costume was due to his father because “George the idolater”.
Duncan said OK! magazine: “That’s why we saw him so stylish in his suit, he really wanted to dress like William.”

Speak at eye level
Judi said that when William is talking to his son, we can often see him lean over to George’s height and place a hand on his chest or shoulder.
She said: “It’s a connection in changing his condition, that is, getting up to her son’s level, which was often rare in previous generations of the royal family.
“Royal children were often expected to act like little adults when in public and royal adults treated them the same, rarely, if ever, bending over to create a more direct form of communication.
“This meant that the smaller royals often grew up surrounded by a sea of legs rather than the powerful facial expressions and subtle fluctuations in vocal tone that George would get from his father.
“The flexing to talk and ritual of touching creates closeness and helps them tune in in ways former royals rarely could.”
Will sing together and play games
Although he has a highly skilled Norland nanny for his children, William was keen to take care of his parenting responsibilities.
A source told Fabulous: “William changed Prince George’s diaper in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London after he was born.
“He is not disgusted and changed the diapers of his three children, even in the back of his Range Rover when there was an ‘unforeseen accident’.”
He especially enjoys driving Charlotte and George to their Thomas’s Battersea school in south London, which costs £ 17,000 a year – and will sing for them on the trip.
The source said: “He will often test them on their homework, sing a song or play I Spy on the way.”

George has a “loving” home
William stressed the importance of giving his children as stable an education as possible.
He told GQ magazine: “I want to raise my children in a happy, stable and secure world and this is so important to both of us as parents.
“I want George to grow up in a real, loving environment.
“I don’t want him growing up behind the palace walls – he has to be there.”
It wasn’t for the cameras, it wasn’t to prove a public point, it was an instinctive reaction from a father who loves his son.

Duncan concluded: “Prince Harry may be right in his less than flattering assessment of his ancestor’s parental history.
“However, the Cambridges are a strong, loving and united clan, content with their own shoes and making the most of the hand given to them.
“At a time of rare glimpses of a future king, appearances at the Euro give a lot to be positive about the young boy who is one day destined to rule us all.
“He will – at the very least – grow up surrounded by his loving family and immune to the cycle that – according to Uncle Harry – has ruined those who came before him.”
