One person died of dengue fever while there have been about 2,000 dengue cases since the beginning of the year.
Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete, Minister of Health, revealed this assertion by saying that he was doing relatively well, because there are other epidemics in the world where more people have died.
Last year, there were 4,000 cases of dengue fever in the country and nine people lost their lives.
The Ministry of Health is collaborating with the Global Mosquito Program to spread mosquitoes carrying the bacterium wolbachia, which will reduce the number of dengue cases.
