The sixth Oasis-class cruise ship, commissioned by Atlantic Shipyards by Atlantic Shipyard on Monday, will also be the world's largest cruise ship when it debuts in 2023.
Number six in the series, the ship will grow to 231 000 tonnes, against 228 081 tonnes for the Symphony of the Seas, built in 2018.
According to a press release, the number of cabins should also increase to 2,857 cabins, for a double occupancy of 5,714 guests. In comparison, the Symphony of the Seas has a double occupancy of 5,518 passengers.
The ship will debut in the fall of 2023 and has not yet been named.
The first two ships of the Oasis class, the Oasis and the Allure, were built at STX Finland (now known as Meyer Turku). The next series of ships was built on the current Chantiers de l'Atlantique in France.
