The snowstorm hits the Las Vegas Valley

LAS VEGAS – Some Las Vegas neighborhoods experience more than 20 centimeters of snow during the February storm that settled in the valley on Wednesday night.

The snow began to fall around 18 hours. and mainly affected neighborhoods along the western edge of the valley. However, snow is also falling on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Anthem area in Henderson received about 2 to 4 inches of snow, but in Summerlin, some areas received up to 8 inches.

The panoramic loop of Red Rock is currently closed.

Public roads 156, 157 and 158 on Mount Charleston require chains or winter tires. State Route 160 between Pahrump and Las Vegas also requires chains and snow tires. It was closed during the night.

The Las Vegas Valley has not seen so much snow since a blizzard hit the valley in 2008.
