You can even use the screen underwater: the device is waterproof up to 33 feet, is strong enough to withstand shocks and weighs 400 pounds of force and can withstand a fall of up to 6.5 feet. This user-friendly display is enhanced by Sony's Eye AF feature that attaches to the subject's eyes, as well as the soft skin effect that can cover minor imperfections.

Do you want to capture high definition video? The RX0 II supports 4K 30p internal recording and can stabilize your footage even in portable mode. If you want to further stabilize the video – and that people with motion sickness will thank you for it – you can run it via the Movie Edit add-on app that accompanies it on a phone or tablet. It also offers a Super Slow Motion mode for shooting at 1,000 fps and a continuous shooting mode for fast motion movies.

Since the camera is small and shooting at the handheld can be a bit difficult, Sony has come up with an optional shooting handle with built-in controls. The device is also equipped with a microphone jack. You can therefore connect an external microphone if necessary for video logs and recordings requiring clear and clean sound. And if you are working on a project requiring multiple cameras, the Sony Imaging Edge Mobile app will allow you to control up to five RX0 II cameras at a time. The new action camera will be available from April 2019 and will be available at various North American retailers priced at US $ 700 and CA $ 900.
