According to his wife, Paige McGee, Bernie was on a bicycle when he called to tell him that he was not feeling well. He was taken to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, where he died Saturday, June 15.

A GoFundMe page was created on June 16 to help the family after Bernie's sudden death.

The fundraising page says that the family recently lost everything in the house fire: "They were just starting to recover everything. Unfortunately, they had to deal with the worst sudden devastation that shocked many.

Bernie is survived by his wife and their four children.

Bernie and Paige practiced polygamy and joined Seeking wife wife documenting their search for a second wife to integrate into their family.

The series follows four plural families that are at different stages of a new wife's search, attendance, or transition in their lives. It was created in 2018 and is currently shot in Georgia.
