Jussie Smollett will appear in Season 6 of Fox's "Empire", according to recent comments from co-star Taraji P. Henson.

Henson, 48, appeared in "The View" earlier this week, where she discussed Smollett and revealed that they were still in touch amidst the controversy surrounding her.

"I talk to Jussie all the time. And he's fine, "she told the hosts. "We are all well. The show is going well. We are on a break now. The writers are trying to understand what the next season, our scenario, will look like. They are trying to cook you some really good juicy stuff.

Fox did not comment when Fox News joined him.

The Cook County Prosecutor's Office in Chicago announced last Tuesday that the 16 charges against Smollett had been dropped and the record of the case was sealed. Smollett was cut off from the rest of season 5 after being charged with paying two brothers for committing a false hate crime against him for the purpose of advertising his career. Previously, he had pleaded not guilty and continued to maintain his innocence.

When asked if Smollett would return for Season 6 now that the charges had been dropped, Henson seemed certain to return.

"Yes, I did not hear anything else," she said, "I did not hear anything."
