Recent photos taken on the surface of Mars reveal a geological mark that seems terribly familiar. The Chevron style shape bears a striking resemblance to the iconic Starfleet logo of Star Trek, well known nerds the world over. This image comes from NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's HiRISE camera, which was shared by the lunar and planetary laboratory of the University of Arizona.
The forms, which are found in the southeast of Hellas Planitia on Mars, constitute "the footprint" of large crescent-shaped dunes that have since flipped over. These "footprints" mark the areas where the dunes were surrounded during a lava eruption, which then solidified around the dunes. These forms are also known as dunes, but the familiar form of these mussels has caused an uproar on Twitter.
Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, tweeted about the findings while making fun of Star wars:
Hey @wars of the stars! Do you want to squeeze your Rebel rebels? ? We beat you! ???? https://t.co/b53KxKlAlj

Our dear dad of space, Mark Hamill, reacted in the same way and the duo launched friendly jokes:
It looks like a boomerang for me. #Meh ? https://t.co/mpYAbBrDgw

In fact, it looks more like a croissant roll, which is delicious with jelly! ?#LiveLongAndUnfollowMe https://t.co/TR4LTNVXMV

Now it's a Twitter quarrel that I can fully control! Great job, guys.
