As far back as she can remember the keeper Jenny stevens had a difficult relationship with food and feeling uncomfortable with her body. As she went through her teens into her twenties, these feelings escalated until she found herself skipping more and more meals as she was plagued with anorexia.

She says Rachel Humphreys that having recognized the problem herself, it was far from easy to get the treatment she needed. Confronted with an obstructive GP, she was unable to get the referral she needed for specialist care. Eventually, she was referred to the Eating Disorders Unit at Maudsley Hospital, South London, where she was able to begin the gradual road to recovery.
