The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi will open as a COVID-19 vaccination site on Saturday, with more than 300 employees of the Oakland County Health Division planning to inoculate around 3,000 people.
Those to be vaccinated will receive the Moderna vaccine. All date slots are full, the county said in a statement Thursday.

The county’s health division received 7,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine this week, the largest amount of vaccine doses it has received in a week since the vaccines began rolling out in December.
The health division informed eligible people of their opportunity to make an appointment based on the state’s COVID-19 vaccination plan and information they provided on the county’s “Save Your Spot” list. in order of receipt.

Vaccines will be administered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the first time that the site has hosted one of the county’s vaccination clinics. Other Oakland County clinics have been drive-thru sites at places such as fire stations.
Suburban Collection Showplace was previously chosen as the site for a regional field hospital for COVID-19 patients.

It is the largest location used in Oakland County for vaccinations.
In Detroit, the TCF Center garage is used to immunize eligible residents of Detroit, with more than 1,000 people scheduled each day this week to be vaccinated.
The Oakland County Health Division will also vaccinate just over 500 people by appointment on Saturday alone at its drive-thru vaccination clinic in Southfield. Meetings there are also full, according to the county statement.
