“Honestly, it keeps me awake at night, that same question,” she said when asked if she feels like she’s peaked. “I feel like I’ve peaked and maybe it’s all downhill from here,” Robbie joked during an interview on “The Suicide Squad”.

“Maybe I’m at the top and it can’t get better,” she continued of her legendary bow. “I hope I don’t because I still feel like I have a lot to give and there are still a lot of directors that I want to work with. And, you know, I’m going to keep climbing as long as possible. “

In the title directed by James Gunn, Robbie plays Harley Quinn in a way most fans have never seen the Joker counterpart.

Robbie said she looked forward to the chance to put Quinn on a different spin, given the newfound freedom she has now had since emancipating herself from MJ’s emotional grasp.

“Well, in this movie we kind of see Harley – a more independent Harley, you know,” Robbie explained. “She really cut ties with MJ [The Joker], it seems. She doesn’t seem to be thinking about him. Whereas when we first met her, she had that kind of perceived security because she was in a relationship with him, even though he tried to kill her all the time. “

Robbie further insisted that in “Birds of Prey” Quinn and Joker “were just coming out of a breakup, so of course she was having a hard time with that. But this time she even thought about it. not really.”

Robbie added that this time around Quinn is “single, ready to mingle, looking for love”.

“It’s not with MJ for once, which is pretty exciting for me because [Quinn] was literally invented as Mr. J’s girlfriend – like she entered the universe as someone’s girlfriend, ”Robbie explained.“ So seeing her sort of evolve into a place where it doesn’t even need to be mentioned just shows that, I guess the character’s popularity increased as she grew emotionally. It’s pretty cool. “

“The Suicide Squad” hits theaters and on HBO Max on August 5 at 7 p.m. EDT. It will be available to stream for 31 days.
