Universal Studios Hollywood is making rapid progress in building its Super Nintendo World expansion. Last month we took stock of the Green Mountains starting to take shape in the lower lot of Universal Studios. We now have a new update showing more Green Mountains and what appears to be the Bowser’s Castle structure which will be the entrance to the Mario Kart ride! We’ll take a look!

Universal Studios Hollywood is currently closed due to pandemic regulations in the state of California. Right now, you can visit CityWalk at USH for take out (which cannot be eaten on property) and a fun atmosphere.

With the opening of Universal CityWalk, some theme park and Universal enthusiasts were able to get some amazing photos and videos of Super Nintendo World being built on the lower lot. Here is a Theme Park Obsessed video on Youtube that shows the new Green Mountains that have been added and the structure of Bowser’s Castle forming well!
Super Nintendo World footage starts at 7 minutes, but the entire video is worth checking out if you like Universal Studios Hollywood!
No word from Universal on the opening of the Super Nintendo World expansion at Universal Studios Hollywood. However, comparing the construction progress to sister Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, I’m guessing this project might be around a year before it officially opens.
This expansion will be a huge draw for Universal Studios Hollywood, as they will eventually reopen to the public. We have no indication of when Universal Studios Hollywood will open the theme park, but hopefully it will reopen in 2021 and also get an opening date for Super Nintendo World.
