The Switch Online mobile app gets a new update, but it's almost always useless

Nintendo mobile application

If you have the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, you can now download a new update by taking it to version 1.5.0.

Unfortunately, no new feature (or even any redesign of its current features is needed) really deserves to be explored. With other applications such as Discord and Skype providing more effective and convenient ways to communicate with friends while playing, the Switch Online app could make big changes.

Here are the full release notes if you want to update your application:

Android:
– Various improvements have been made in terms of performance and ease of use, including changing the location of the buttons.
– Various problems are now solved.
– The supported Android versions have changed. Android version 5.0 or later is now required to use this application.

iOS:
– Various performance and usability improvements have been made, including changing the display position of the buttons.
– Bug fixes implemented.
– The supported iOS versions have been modified. To use this app, iOS 10.0 or later is now required.

It's a shame – the Splatnet feature is a charming little addition to Splatoon 2and if the application worked exactly like Discord but with your Switch friends list easily accessible, that would be great. Hope that bigger changes are underway.
