‘The Talk’ appoints two new co-hosts

Amanda Kloots and Elaine Welteroth join CBS’s “The Talk” as new co-hosts. Kloots and Welteroth, who recently appeared as guest co-hosts on several episodes in October and November, landed permanent spots alongside Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Carrie Ann Inaba. The Daytime Emmy-winning speaker, who kicked off his 11th season in September, announced the news live today.

Kloots and Welteroth, who will officially join the panel on Jan.4, are replacing Marie Osmond, who left the show last season, and Eve, who last month announced her departure this month after three seasons.

“Amanda and Elaine are accomplished and reliable women, whose talents and personality have stood out in their multiple guest appearances this fall. They bring a new dimension to the show and we are very happy to welcome them to the panel, ”said Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment. “These five hosts together present a compelling mix of personalities and opinions that will continue to uplift the series and lead The Talk into the future.”

In addition to the two co-host replacements, The Talk has also undergone a major behind-the-scenes change this season, with show veterans Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews named as co-producers / showrunners. They took over from longtime executive producer / showrunner John Redmann, who left after 10 seasons.

Kloots’ husband Nick Cordero died in July at the age of 41 from complications from Covid-19. She recounted her long struggle with the disease on Instagram throughout the ordeal. Former Broadway and Radio City dancer Rockette turned entrepreneur and celebrity trainer is the creator of global fitness brand AK! Fitness and co-creator of the clothing company Hourra pour. Her first dissertation, co-written with her sister, will be released in June 2021.

Welteroth is the New York Times bestselling author of “More Than Enough: Claiming Space For Who You Are, No Matter What They Say”. She is an award-winning journalist, producer and judge on Project Runway. In 2016, Welteroth became editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, and the youngest editor-in-chief of Condé Nast in its 107-year history, as well as the second African-American to hold the title of editor-in-chief of the business. Previously, she held executive positions at Glamor and Ebony Magazine, and in 2012, she became Conde Nast’s very first African-American Beauty Director.
