Black Caucus meets with Vice President Harris to discuss stimulus bill
On Wednesday evening, members of the Congressional Black Caucus met with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss the US bailout, which the White House hopes to be adopted by House of Representatives on Friday. Throughout the pandemic, much of the damage has been felt the hardest by minority individuals, families and businesses.
Announcing his stimulus bill in January, he said of his business proposal: “Our priority will be small businesses owned by Blacks, Latin Americans, Asians and Native Americans, businesses owned by women and finally have equal access to the resources needed to reopen and rebuild. “
It is hoped that the $ 1,400 stimulus checks will provide the immediate help needed to support families who lost their income during the pandemic. As Representative Williams points out, the the black community has been disproportionately affected by covid-19.
