The title sequence of the animated series Critical Role premieres at NYCC

Critical Role, the hugely popular real-life game series Dungeons & Dragons, arrives on Amazon Prime with an animated series titled The legend of Vox Machina. The series premieres February 4, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video. During a presentation at New York Comic Con on Friday, the Critical Role team revealed the cartoon’s opening title sequence.

The video features characters played by the original cast of the longtime series, including voice actors Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham.

From the official video description, The legend of Vox Machina “Will follow a gang of misfits with a penchant for alcohol and brawling. In a desperate attempt to pay off their mounting bar tab, these unlikely heroes find themselves on a quest to save the kingdom of Exandria from the dark magical forces. From a sinister necromancer to a powerful curse, the group face a variety of obstacles that test not only their skills, but the strength of their bond as well.

This new animated series will cover the events of the first season of Critical Role, a long campaign known as Vox Machine. The second campaign of the troop is called The mighty Nein, and was followed by the interstitial series Exandria unlimited. A third full campaign arc will begin on October 21. It will be streamed live for free on Twitch and YouTube. The theater company also partnered with Cinemark Theaters to simultaneously air the first episode in 20 cities across the United States.
