After months of anticipation, fans of the HBO Fantasy series have finally had their first look extended to the last season of the series.

HBO released Tuesday the official season 8 trailer on Twitter, with a simple message: "the trailer is here."

The projection lasted about two minutes. Arya Stark was breathing in the dark, evoking the looming threat of white walkers and the army of the dead.

"I know death, it has many faces," said Arya, played by Maisie Williams, in the trailer. "I can not wait to see this one."

The black teaser – both literally and figuratively – offers a glimpse into several main characters in the series, including Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) preparing the battle for the Stark Fortress.

The trailer was viewed more than 11 million times on Tuesday afternoon, according to a Twitter spokesperson.

"Game of Thrones" is not just one of the most discussed TV shows, it is also one of the most acclaimed. The series won the best drama at the last Primetime Emmy Awards.

"Game of Thrones" returns on April 14th.
