Sonic the Hedgehog receives live film treatment, whether you like it or not.
Sonic the hedgehog It's been a while since we've been accelerating: a character poster revealing Sonic's muscular physique arrived in December after various reactions. In March, a marketing version of the full version of Sonic was released, also provoking various reactions. Nobody was really sure of the real appearance of the beloved Sega character when it would be translated to the big screen.
But now, with this first trailer, we can finally see the fast blue hedgehog in action. He is running! He speaks (with the voice of Ben Schwartz)! Seeing it in blue and hairy flesh makes the disconnect between classic game designs and terribly realistic posters a little more acceptable.
Sonic is not the only one in the spotlight: Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik is also appearing in the trailer. We had a first glimpse of Sonic's scam on a photo leaked yesterday, but the film shows Jim Carrey's insanity as Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
James Marsden and Green Hills Sheriff Tom Wachowski and Adam Pally, another police officer, complete the cast. The film's plot, directed by Blur Studio veteran Jeff Fowler, will follow the two police officers from the small town as they travel to San Francisco with Sonic to defeat Dr. Robotnik.
Sonic the hedgehog is released on November 8, 2019.
