The Virginia Beach Post Office will be named for the hero of mass shooting

Ryan Keith Cox was an account executive who had been working in the utilities for over 12 years. According to witnesses, Cox helped keep his colleagues safe during the shooting.
President Trump on Wednesday signed a bill creating a post office in Virginia Beach after Cox, one of 12 people killed in the shooting.
"If it was not for him, several other people would have died," CNW's WAVY subsidiary Christi Dewar, a city employee, said shortly after the shooting. "It was a hero."
US Representative Elaine Luria of Virginia introduced the bill, which was promulgated "after a swift passage through the House and the bicameral and bicameral Senate last month," Luria's office said Thursday. in a press release.

"Virginia Beach and our Commonwealth will never forget Keith Cox's courageous efforts to save his compatriots," Luria said. "The post office building will serve as a permanent reminder of his courage and sacrifice.It is an honor to recognize a true hero of the community."

The post office, which now bears no name, will call the post office building Ryan Keith Cox.
